The past twelve months have not been a smooth ride for Clinton Njie with on and off field troubles but the Indomitable Lion has banished struggles to the past.
Forced to watch from the bench during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations triumph and missing out totally in the travelling party at the Confederations Cup in Russia, Clint has bounced back in strong style to get a call back to the national team.
This has been possible thanks to his early season form at French side Olympique Marseille that has seen him score five goals in nine appearances, making him the club’s top scorer so far. His goal return this early season means he has already surpassed the four goals scored the whole of last season.
Missing out of the Confederations squad provided an opportunity for Clint to build on his fitness which had been an issue for the past years with niggling injuries as well as get a good pre-season under his belt during which he was prolific.
Transferring that early season form at international level where he has not hit the back of the net for over a year now.
If he maintains his performance levels throughout the season, then Clint could be in for a very powerful season.
