Cameroon’s Catherine Bilong Elected into French Academy of Pharmacy

The chief medical officer of the biochemistry department at the  Centre Pasteur in Yaounde, Dr. Catherine Bilong, has been elected into the French Academy of Pharmacy.

Dr. Bilong who teaches clinical bacteriology at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (Fmsb) and the Catholic University of Central Africa (Ucac) in Yaoundé is the national and woman from the Central African Sub region to be elected into the Academy.

The 59-year old has over a 29-year experience in the field and was the the African union’s consultant for the upgrading of the institution’s clinical biology laboratories in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

She will be received at the French Academy in Paris on December 20, 2017.
